Sitting at your desk, in front of a computer, all day can actually increase your stress. The thinking alone and problem solving can be very tiring. You get so tired that by the time you get home at the end of the day, you can’t even think about doing something active. This creates a blockage of stress in our bodies because there is no release. When you hold on to the stress, you hold on to the stress hormones and you don’t release the hormones that relieve stress and make you feel good.

Having an education is highly respected in today’s world, but getting one can be quite difficult. Many people can’t afford to leave their jobs to go to college, and many more don’t want to give up the stability of a steady wage for the student lifestyle, struggling to make ends meet. If saving for years isn’t an option for you, you’ll be glad to hear that there is now a respected alternative to attending college.

Online courses have been around for a while, but attending a known college has always been preferred. Now, an online education is just as valuable as attending college every day, and successfully demonstrates key skills to employers. Not only have you studied for a college education, but studying online shows you have good time management skills, and can prioritize and schedule tasks. It also displays that you are dedicated, organized, and self motivated, skills which employers can really utilize in the working environment.

Most online establishments now offer a range of courses and support, too. One example, www.onlineeducation.com, which allows you to choose a degree level to study at, and study a variety of subjects in conjunction with well-known colleges. This ensures that your education is just as respectable as someone who attended in person, but also displays the above skills, and can easily fit around a job or family. From career training courses such as wedding planning, to art and design courses like animation, there is a course that will appeal to everyone.  They provide support and resources to ensure you get the best result possible.

If you are still worried about costs, there is financial aid available, as well as scholarships for different groups of people. Most of these require you to apply a few months in advance, and provide much needed financial help. Last year, they awarded $168 million in financial aid…so what are you waiting for?!

Using the Library’s Free Educational System

The library is the place to be when you want to study or just want to hang out. Kids of all ages love the library because there are other kids and books to read. And besides those two reasons, adults love it too. However, there are some free services to use while at the library whether you are by yourself, with someone or a child.

They have storytimes each month which is good for young babies and toddlers to hear the English language. And in order for them to know how to speak it, giving them the opportunity to hear different stories each week is a way for parents to get out of the house for a bit and be with the kid. Many parents use the opportunity to spend some time with the kids and by themself which can save the parents from being at home all the time. And since there are other kids, why not take the time to do something for yourself while the kid is being occupied by someone else? But the librarians are not there to babysit the kids.

If you are researching about something, go and ask any of the librarians about it. They know more than you think and can help you since they have other resources such as books and magazines. The librarians are there to help people with anything that they need help with.

The computers are at the library because sometimes, people like to go on it especially if they do not have any at home. People who can’t afford to get any Internet access, a laptop or desktop and/or printer is having some financial difficulty. It also can keep some people out of trouble by listening to music or just surf on the Internet.

A well known organization called “SCORE” helps future or current business owners to get started by getting some funds to either start or support the current business. It is a good thing to have since it can maybe get us out of the current economic by hiring people that need a job.

Shoreline is located at the next city north of Seattle which you can’t miss if you see a sign at 145th and Aurora. Shoreline is slowly catching up to Seattle because they are rated as one of the top cities to live in the United States; and is mentioned in some magazines such as “Seattle Met” and “Money.” It is a city that many people enjoy living at since they have better school systems than Seattle does. And plus, many stores are located along the Aurora road. But ther are at least two libraries that are located in Shoreline and one in Lake Forest Park.

One of the libraries is called “Shoreline Public Library” which is located at 175th and 5th avenue NE. Out of the two libraries in Shoreline, this one is much bigger than the Richmond Beach location which we will get to soon. They offer many free programs such as toddler and babies story time, Chinese Story Time and Spanish Story Time. If you are interested in starting a business, they have one of the representatives from SCORE to go there and talk to people who made an appointment which you must book ahead of times. You can either book it in person or over the phone. The SCORE representatives have many free resources for you to take home with you.

The Richmond Beach location is located at 196th and 21st avenue NW. It is a small library which is where Richmond Beach park is located at. Even though there is not many events going on compare to the Shoreline location, it is a cozy library to go to if you can’t make it to the main Shoreline library.

And the last of the three libraries is Lake Forest Park Public Library. Just like the Shoreline Public Library, it is big as well which they have many events going on for each week. It is in the same area as “The Third Place” bookstore which is inside the bookstore for the upstairs location.

The park have some swings and slides for kids to play in while the parents can talk to each other or go inside to do some exercise. It is cheap to pay on a weekly or monthly basis to do recreational activities such as swimming and using the exercise room.

Greenlake Park is located close to a library and the address is 7201 E Green Lake Dr. N. It is where most of the fitness people go to for some exercise since they have a big and long sidewalk to walk and run on. Even moms with strollers and people who walk their dogs are allowed.

This is a small list of some parks and recreational places to go to when you are bored. And sometimes, events happen at the parks such as free concerts.
